Brady Stanton started dancing Modern Jive in January 2005. He has since studied West Coast Swing and Social Dance under various instructors and coaches, including Golden State Dance Teachers Association Specialists. And, he now specialises in West Coast Swing.

Brady has competed in local, interstate and international competitions.

In 2006, Brady and Cassandra Hicks placed in the finals in Gaby's Dance Studio's (G.D.S.'s) Beginner Modern Jive Freestyle competition in Canberra. Also in 2006, Brady placed 2nd in G.D.S.'s Intermediate Ballroom Latin Dance-With-A-Stranger competition. Later in 2006, Brady and Megan Wauer placed 2nd in the Top Gun Intermediate Modern Jive competition in Adelaide, AND they placed 2nd in the highly esteemed Top Gun OPEN Rock'n'Roll competition (dancing Modern Jive).

Brady opened his own Social Dance studio, with Business Partner Katie Dixon, in May 2007. Modern Partner Dancing (Adelaide) taught Modern Jive and West Coast Swing. THIRD FOOT (ADELAIDE) replaces Modern Partner Dancing (Adelaide).

In June 2008, Brady and Amy Osborne were "discovered" dancing at The Semaphore Workers Club and invited to participate in Rachel Ward's film Beautiful Kate, starring Ben Mendelsohn, Bryan Brown, Maeve Dermody, Rachel Griffiths and Sophie Lowe. Beautiful Kate hit cinemas in August 2009.

Brady has established himself as a talented dancer and teacher and judged beside West Coast Swing wonders Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollman (U.S.A.) in Sydney in February 2009, and taught in Ubud, Bali in June 2009 and Santa Barbara, CA in August 2009.
 
Also in 2009, Brady attended congresses, "Intensives" and private classes with the world's best West Coast Swing dancers, performers, competitors, choreographers, instructors/coaches and adjudicators in the U.S.A. He lived and worked with THE Skippy Blair for over 7 weeks, traveled with West Coast Swing Champions Christopher Hussey and Katrina Branson for over 6 weeks, met "The Queen of Swing" Norma Miller and danced with Ellen Taylor. He completed specialist teacher- and adjudicator-training in West Coast Swing (including 'West Coast 101'), other Social Dances (Ballroom, Latin and Swing), and teaching children, and has passed both the Preliminary and Registered Golden State Dance Teachers Association Teachers Exams, making him a Member of the G.S.D.T.A.

As well as training, Brady competed at some of the world's largest West Coast Swing events... He achieved:

  • 2nd in the Novice Jack & Jill competition, Finals in the Advanced Strictly competition and Finals in the All American (Open) Jack & Jill competition at Miami Dance Magic in Miami, FL
  • 1st in the Novice Jack & Jill competition and 3rd in the Novice Strictly competition at Swingtime in the Rockies in Denver, CO
  • Finals in the Intermediate Jack & Jill competition and 4th in the Intermediate Strictly competition at Summer Hummer in Boston, MA
  • 5th in the Intermediate Jack & Jill competition and Finals in the All American (Open) Jack & Jill competition at Desert City Swing in Phoenix, AZ
  • 2nd in the Intermediate Jack & Jill competition and Finals in the All American (Open) Jack & Jill competition at Bridge Town Swing in Portland, OR
  • 2nd in the Intermediate Jack & Jill competition at Boogie by the Bay in San Francisco, CA
  • 4th in the Intermediate Jack & Jill competition at Halloween Swingthing in Irvine, CA
  • 5th in the Intermediate Jack & Jill competition and 3rd in the Intermediate Strictly competition at Tampa Bay Classic in Tampa, FL
  • 2nd in the Intermediate Jack & Jill competition and 1st in the All American (Open) Jack & Jill competition at West Coast Dance Challenge in Seattle, WA
  • Competed in the Advanced/All-Star Jack & Jill competition at the U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships in Anaheim, CA

Brady returned to Adelaide in December 2009, excited to teach YOU West Coast Swing and Modern Jive.

Brady continues to teach interstate and overseas, but always enjoys teaching at home.
